happy days!

September already! Insane! I’ve been trying to not think about the fact we were meant to be holidaying in Queensland this week. Mega sad face. But still, just keeping busy.

My best bits of the week are… finally starting Reformer Pilates which I’m LOVING. And our cute new bed linen is here and it is the best (it’s little things in life!)

Father’s Day today – it’s my husband’s second one but technically his first as last year he was away for his first ever Father’s Day. Don’t feel too bad for him, he was in Ireland for his best mates wedding!

I wrote a post on things I love about my Dad, you can check it out here if you wish.

And as always, some fun links for you below.

Enjoy ๐Ÿ˜Š

Speaking of Father’s Day, this is the book I bought for my husband. I know he enjoys these types of books but, let’s be honest, it’s one that I really want to read so I’ll let you know my thoughts when I’m done.

The girls from the Shameless podcast discuss stan culture and if celebrities should encouraging bad behaviour. Have a listen, would love to know your thoughts.

This article on why you should find time to be alone is interesting.

Ever seen Anne Hathaway channelling Miley Cyrus on a wrecking ball? Neither had I, until now that is.

I received this Pause journal for my birthday earlier this year and it’s become a weekly habit that I really look forward to. The different weekly prompts keep it interesting and encourage me to take stock each week. Highly recommend.

Having trouble sleeping? This meditation track is a powerful aide for meditating but it can also be used to help with sleep. I’ve used it at bed time many times before – the soothing sound instantly makes your brain switch off. Try it and let me know if it works for you.

You know that little tune most people do when they knock on a door? Here’s a short video discovering the origin of the tune and why the sound seems unfinished if you don’t do that extra two knocks at the end. This will all make sense once you watch the video. Just watch it.

This is the greatest thing ever! Find an article you want to save and read later on? Use this bookmark app, Get Pocket, and save your links all in one place. Genius!

INSPIRING INSTA-ART

Get out there and find some arty goodness to lighten up your life.

Instagram is full of amazing art to inspire you in any way. Go get your face into that stuff!

I’ve included Rhian McLeod in this week’s segment as this piece reminds me of that Kingfisher my Dad once painted (and still bangs on about how good it is).

Rhian is one talented bird so I’m stoked to share her work with you all. Her art of Australian wildlife is just beautiful, go check her out.
